Still I Rise.

So. When I kept thinking of your tattoo. I wanted an image, a very powerful, strong image. something that to me represented you. The image that kept coming to mind was the phoenix. Rising from the ashes. I wasn’t sure if I could make this image masculine enough, so I started doing a little research on it.

First, I found out that in Shaolin Kung Fu the original symbols or animals used before it was broken into five animals was a dragon and a phoenix. Baby, you are the phoenix.  For so many reasons. First, its an ancient magical symbol, it’s all about strength and rebirth, transformation . it also symbolizes fire, which being a leo/lion you are. For all the ways that you transform yourself from one ‘life’ to another, You fell, you crashed, you broke, you surrendered, and then you rose again. you are the phoenix.

The fire, we discussed, Its your passion, your fury,

The kanji, or the Chinese symbols i choose. are from left to right; Love, that one should be self explanatory :) but inside the fire, its a balance of yin and yang, female and male, you and I, and crowning that balance, is symbol for luck. I was going to put joy, or happiness, but luck won..

On the right hand side, the symbol for eternity, and crowing it the symbol for spirit.  I also threw in an infinity sign, at the base of the fire. Its subtle, but its there..

So, now that you know the meaning, tell me what you think ;) I’m just going to go over to this corner and hold my breath for like five whole minutes.
